Project Name: PW: Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG)
Project Type: Energy Services Performance Contract/Construction
Project Description: A grant of $3,226,400 was awarded to Prince William County under the EECBG Program. The County awarded an Energy Services Performance Contract to Schneider Electric Building Americas, Inc. (SE). Project includes: study, provide and implement measures to reduce energy consumption in three County buildings - Judicial Center, McCoart Building and Western District Police Station. SE guarantees an amount of $135,405 in annual energy savings per as result of implementing energy improvements as well as the installation of a solar photovoltaic generation system on the McCoart Building rooftop. Additionally, grant funds were used to retrofit six streetlights at the intersection of Minnieville Road and Prince William Parkway to Light-Emitting Diode (LED). Dominion Virginia Power provided the labor in-kind as part of a pilot program that DVP offered to localities.
