Writer bears witness to wonders.
James Carney will never forget Jan. 30, 1992. Life changed forever for the Lake Ridge man after he held a small statue in his hand and watched water roll down its porcelain cheeks. “The eyes just welled up and water ran down [its face], said Carney, a 52-year-old retired Army colonel. In his recent book, “The Seton Miracles: Weeping Statues and Other Wonders,” Carney chronicles more than 50 incidences of statues weeping water and blood, in addition to other unexplained happenings, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Lake Ridge and at the homes of several of its parishioners from late 1991 to July 1992.
