10/23/2008The second phase of the project has been changed from Crape Myrtles to low laying beds consisting of ornamental grasses, various bushes and small shrubs under 3 ft. Planting is scheduled to beging in November 2008.
2/14/2008The first phase of the project has been completed. The second phase of the project will consist of Crape Myrtles being planted in the median from the I-95 overpass to Stockholm Way. Planting is scheduled for October 2008.
2/1/200840 Crape Myrtles were relocated (at Neighborhood Services's expense) from the medians located at Waterway Dr and Knickerbocker Dr. The trees were relocated in other medians along Cardinal Dr.
12/1/2007VDOT has stopped any further planting of trees until the landscaping site has been physically inspected.
10/31/200750% of planting has been completed in the Neabsco District section of the project. The Dumfries section of the project is scheduled to begin in October 2008.
8/1/2007Planting of trees in medians will wait until ideal season October 2007. This gives the trees the best chance of survival.
6/1/2007Supervisor Caddigan and Supervisor Jenkins have been notified by way of email by Michelle Casciato as to the planting time line.
