Project Name: FCM: Gainesville Fire & Rescue Station # 4
Project Type: Renovation / Addition
Project Description: The Gainesville Station was built in 1990 and is located at 14450 John Marshall Highway in Gainesville. The station is a one story building with four double drive-through bays and is approximately 13,500 square feet. The site is a 3.88 acre rectangular shaped parcel. This project will renovate the existing space and may construct additional space if an architectural review finds more space is needed to efficiently operate this station. The project also includes reorganizing the interior of the building so that it is more efficient and increase the size of the living quarters, office space and operational space. Site work will include renovations to the paved surfaces including; drive and travel ways, access road, bay aprons, and site lighting.

2/15/2018Contractor provided The County with a schedule update showing substantial completion date for all construction date of 5/7/2018.
1/30/2018Phase 2 - Residential wing expansion was completed and Fire & Rescue staff have moved into the new area. Work is currently ongoing in phases 3 and 4 which includes reconstructing the locker/shower/toilet rooms.

3. Fiscal/Resource Issues     



11/6/2018To complete the project Facilities Construction has projected an additional $200,000 in funding is needed. Finance has directed the Department of Fire and Rescue provide additional funding from the Fire Station 5 operational budget.
