Project Name: SW: Revise and Update 2004 Solid Waste Management Plan

Project Description: The current Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP) was approved in June 22, 2004 and needs to be updated considering current technologies and trends in the industry. The solid waste fee was adopted in and implemented in 1999 and the process used to determine fee amounts needs review for consistency and accuracy. Expertise from a consultant to lead the County through a community process to guide the solid waste management plan for the next 10-20 years is needed. The overall goal of the plan is to reduce the amount of waste entering the County landfill. A review of the solid waste fee and possible long term funding options for the system will be included in the study.
